Supporting the Human Rights of the People of Palestine
The people of Palestine live in impoverished conditions where their access to food, water, and electricity is limited. Innocent people die regularly because of needless bombings. This is not a matter of religion. This is a matter of human rights.
Both the Israelis and Palestinians have a right to exist in stable environments, which a two-state solution would provide. Done Waiting supports all non-violent methods to pressure the Israeli government to respect the rights of Palestinians, including the BDS movement (Boycott, Divest, Sanctions).
Done Waiting supports HR 2407, which is a bill that would protect the human rights of Palestinian children living under Israeli military occupation. It would do this by requiring that “United States funds do not support military detention, interrogation, abuse, or ill-treatment of Palestinian children, and for other purposes”.
Recently, the Trump administration declared that Israeli settlements on Palestinian lands are no longer considered a violation of international law in the eyes of the United States. Done Waiting disagrees with this view and would advocate for the executive branch to reverse this ruling.
